Building Stronger Communities Together: NUU and FC Dallas Foundation Announce 2025 Community Action Grantees

    By NUU, July 25, 2025

FRISCO, Texas (July 25, 2025) — The FC Dallas Foundation, in partnership with NUU, is proud to announce the 2025 recipients of the Community Action Grant. These grantees represent the best of North Texas—organizations committed to creating healthier, more connected, and empowered communities. Each focuses on one of the Foundation’s core pillars: healthy & active lifestyles, education, character building, and social & economic impact.

“From the start of our partnership with FC Dallas, our belief has been clear: Beyond the game. Technology connects us. Building stronger communities together,” said Danny Sit, CEO of NUU. “At NUU, we believe in using technology as a force for good, to drive meaningful impact and uplift the communities we serve. We’re proud to support the FC Dallas Foundation’s Community Action Grant program and the organizations making a lasting difference across North Texas.”

“The FC Dallas Foundation supports programs that promote education, health and wellness for youth and communities in North Texas,” said Brooke Leverette, FC Dallas Foundation & Community Relations Senior Director. “Our Community Action Grant Program presented by NUU does just that. We could not be more excited for this class of grantees and the meaningful impact they all have in our community.”

Each recipient receives a $5,000 grant from the FC Dallas Foundation to advance their mission and expand their impact.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas enables all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. In partnership with the City of Commerce Parks & Recreation Department, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas provides the Commerce Sports League that promotes healthy habits, boosts confidence and offers youth a sense of belonging.

Community Connections provides free extracurricular programs for individuals with special needs and meaningful support for their families. Their programs provide a safe and encouraging environment and are designed to allow children to build social skills, friendships, and self-esteem through the arts and physical activities including adaptive soccer.

The Seed Project Foundation funds educational, agricultural and community initiatives that support sustainability. The Seed Project Foundation’s largest program, the McKinney Roots Farm, provides fresh produce and eggs to food-insecure individuals through local nonprofits, churches and schools. The farm also has a partnership with McKinney ISD and hosts approximately 1,600 students annually to teach them about agriculture and the importance of eating healthy, nutritious food.

Visual Aid Volunteers promotes the independence and success of people with visual impairments by providing quality braille materials. Through collaborative efforts with local school districts, Visual Aid Volunteers donates books with clear braille overlays allowing both sighted and visually impaired students to read together.
